I’ve been doing my fair share of apartment shopping lately and the places I’m looking at tend to be smaller. So I am super excited about these home ideas that make the most out of the space I have to work with.
Between these decorating ideas and organization tips I feel alot better about moving in.

2. DIY Rolling Pantry

This clever freestanding pantry works well for small kitchen dwellers and renters. The best part is that the whole rolling pantry cost less than $150 for all the supplies and tools. And if you are the renter you can bring this with you to your next place.
3. Tilt-Out Trash Can

No room under the sink for your ugly garbage or recycling can? No problem! Build one of these tilt-out trash cans that doubles as a cutting board or a microwave/toaster oven stand! It takes up hardly any space at all, but provides a little extra counter space, and more importantly, keeps the garbage can out of site.

4. DIY Desk

Don’t have a space for a desk. Hang a shelf and you have an instant desk that can fit in any corner or wall space you might have. If you need some storage for your desk add some of those inexpensive organization drawers underneath your new desk.
5. Utilize Space Around The Door

This is how you use the most of your small space. Just look around at your current place and now you’ll start seeing how much space you can utilize around the door. This is great for the main living space but also well for extra bathroom space.
6. Over-the-Cabinet Basket

No hardware needed! Just place this basket over a cabinet door and use it as a garbage bin in the bathroom or for extra storage in the kitchen (or any room). This might also be the perfect solution for a travel trailer or boat where space is really limited!
7. DIY Breakfast Nook

This breakfast nook is perfect for a small apartment or a studio, don’t take up precious living space to put a table in there. To build this breakfast nook it costs less than a whole table and chair set so already your a big fan of the breakfast nook and you can easily build it against the window so you have a pretty view to look at over your morning coffee.
8. Backsplash Storage

The kitchen counter is precious space so finding a functional yet nice way of storing things is crucial. Instead of placing everything (coffee can, sugar, butter, salt & pepper, cork screw, etc.) on the counter, keep the space free and use your backsplash as storage! 9. Wall Full of Baskets

10. Corner Shelf and Bedside Table
