Are you trying to be healthy but still love dessert? Do you love to bake but feel like you can’t since most recipes require a ton of sugar and processed crap?
Dessert is a beautiful thing. But it’s typically packed with white sugar and processed ingredients, that of course taste amazing but are so bad for you.
When I was in culinary school, all I ate everyday was delicious pastries and desserts. I quickly realized that I was gaining a ton of weight and I wasn’t happy about it. Now I’m living a healthier lifestyle and I still love bake. I just know that if I don’t modify or specifically look for healthier desserts then I’ll be back to an unhealthy life.
So I’ve rounded up recipes that are made with whole ingredients, smart substitutes, and there’s no refined sugar in site. Some recipes are gluten free and dairy free but all recipes are refined sugar free.
Using smart substitutes like maple syrup, raw honey or agave can make your baked goods just as sweet as regular sugar.
These desserts also happen to be delicious and pretty damn good looking, which makes them the perfect thing to bring to a potluck or dinner party or simply make for yourself when you feel like creating a work of art you can eat.
